I'm a new member and have recently picked up a '17 plate 530d xdrive, and have finally. Use BMW Download Manager to download the road map. Unzip that file located in C:Usersyour user namebmw-dlmdl to a folder on the PC. Copy the unzipped content to a USB (or a portable disk, I have used a portable disk which has 1000GB free storage.) formatted with exFAT. Than in the car. It will be started automatically.

Once you have downloaded it, you can install it by following the procedure below.

How to install

Unzip the Rheingold file to the desired location. If the capacity is large enough and you are considering installation up to ISTA-P later, it is recommended to compress the file to a location with sufficient capacity.

A folder called Rheingold is created and unzipped in that location. The top-level folder name does not have any major problems when you change it. I unzipped it to D: Rheingold for illustration .

SQLiteDBs Put all of the files in the folder into the folder of the unpacked folder above SQLiteDBs and extract it. You do not have to create folders for each language, just unzip them into that folder.

RCleanerV4.4.exe. The reason for running RCleaner is to initialize the registry associated with the program registration. When prompted to reboot, reboot the computer.

4.04.31 standalone reg fix (xOO).reg Double-click the file to register it in the registry.

If your OS is 32-bit, register x86. If you have 64-bit, register x64.

Go to the Rheingold TesterGUI bin Release folder where I extracted the ISTA-D ISTAGUI.exefile and run the file.

When you run it, you will be prompted to insert the license, open Rheingoldthe rheingold-license.txtfile in the folder and copy and paste the full text.

After that 1, you are prompted to enter ISIS, just type and ignore the warning message.

Workaround when ISTA + is not running

If you can not run the program after installation as above, it is likely that the environment in which the program will run is not built up. In order for ISTA + to operate, a basic environment must be established. This may be different by OS version, but I am running Windows 10 only if I have Visual C ++ installed.

So I will try to list all the necessary environments and try to install them one by one and check whether they are running after rebooting. Some of the necessary files are placed in the Tools folder of the ISTA + download folder .

.Net Framework 4.5.2 or later: in Tools folder
Microsoft Visual C ++: Download from official website
vcredist 2010 and 2013: in the Tools folder
vs90_piaredist: in the Tools folder
Patched_EDIABAS: in the Tools folder
java: Download from the official homepage (but the probability of the cause is low)

How to configure dis v57 & vmware vmnet1 & ediabas.ini file to get connection

BMW DIS V57 Source Code Control System IDENTIFICATION (SCCS ID) IS A UNIX BASED FILE OWNERSHIP COMMAND. IS USED TO ASSIGNED FILE OWNERSHIP IN DIS V57 TO TALK TO THE EDIABAS.INI SETTINGS AS WELL AS IN THE VMWARE NETWORK to TALK to THE vmnet1 Host Only ip address 192.168.68.1

THIS ALLOWS DIS V57 TO READ & CONFIRM THE ip address & port commands in the VMWARE AS WELL AS IN THE EDIABAS.INI CONFIGURATION FILE , WHICH IS CONFIGURED AS:

IN DIS V57 SCREEN TYPE: ON YOUR KEYBOARD PRESS THESE KEYS: CTRL+SHIFT+PRNT SYSRq

Login:
Type in: “ root” type it in without the quotes.
Then Hit the Enter Key
FOR THE PASSWORD:
Type in: “12345” type it in without the quotes

AFTER THIS # SIGN TYPE IN like this
# vi ediabas.ini
Then Hit the Enter Key
Type in the letter O
This allows you to start type in a line indicated by a white cursor :
Type this in line one.

Your done here. (please note) The letter X on the keyboard if depressed it means delete, as well IT CAN BE USED TO TYPE an X.

As the letter “i” WHICH MEANS TO EDIT A CHARACTR or WORD. To delete with X , you must highlight the character first with the cursor using the arrow keys on your keyboard PRESS THE DELETE BUTTON AND THEN X

:wq means to saves the changes you have made.
:q means quit without save the changes.
Type in this
:wq
Hit enter key
This number sign will appear # . just type beside the # sign like this
# vi host
And then hit the enter key
The host page will appear
Type the letter O (please note) the letter O should not be visible on the page at any time.
This allows the cursor for you to type in the first line:
Should look like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.68.1 diaghead diaghead
Type letter O again.
It allows you to drop down the cursor to the next line under what you just typed
Your done here.
Type in the :wq
Then hit enter key.Then # will appear.

Type in: init 6

the line should look like this: # init 6 Windows 10 mouse pointer themes.

AND THEN HIT ENTER KEY to reboot DIS V57 JUST BE PATIENT.

The following allows you to shutdown DIS V57. COMPLETELY WITHOUT REBOOTING IT.
(THIS COMMAND: init 0 .It means the number zero and not the letter O , Then hit your enter key on your keyboard.
This Command Closes DIS V57.)

AFTER DIS V57 IS REBOOTED GO TO THE ADMINISTRATION SCREEN
